Tomatoes and Peppers are Here!

Fall and Winter crops are here and will be through at least May. These include cauliflowers, broccolis, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, lettuces, leafy greens, and most herbs except for basil. I will be starting basil to grow indoors, but it will take longer to start with the cooler weather. Try to get as much sunlight as possible for vegetables in the winter, as they will take longer to produce in less light and cooler temperatures.
Spring veggies such as tomatoes, peppers, eggplants, squash, and cucumbers are ready, with additional varieties coming in the next few weeks. Basils, 8 varieties, will be available in 2-3 weeks, peppers in 2-3, squash in 1-2, eggplants in 2-3. As it begins to warm up, more varieties will be ready.

Check out the Tower Garden Growers Challenge page to grow along with others!

Microgreens

Greens picked specifically to do well in the microgreens section of the Tower Garden.  Meant to be clipped back to 2-3 inches and regrow.  Don't cut back too harshly because plants may not regrow.  Wonderful to garnish dishes.  My favorite greens for the microgreens are kales, mustards, and arugula.

Toscano "Italian Heirloom" Kale

$2.50 - $3.00

Italian heirloom kale, also known as lacinato, dinosaur, or blue kale. This is the second most tender kale we grow, only to Red Russian kale. Grows well year-round.

An excellent candidate for the microgreens sections of the Tower Garden. Leave 2-3" when harvesting and enjoy multiple cuttings.

Stalks become woody after several months. Harvest either leaf by leaf, or cut back a few inches above base and the plant will regrow.
